Summer Outfit (5): Orange in our Hearts

I so wish I could change the title of this post to something like “dress for success”, but unfortunately after 2 attempts in 1974 and 1978, the Dutch failed to collect the World Cup for the third time… Again. :-(

Many of my friends know that I started watching the World Cup games in 1994 and have been a supporter for the Italian team ever since. Thank God they won the champion in 2006, it was like a dream come true, so for me the long journey of being an Azzurri fan came to an end. This time I was hoping for an orange victory, because my best friend, who started watching the games together with me since 1994 is a big fan of the Netherlands. It could have all been so different for Van Marwijk’s oranje and it could have been such a wonderful summer for her…Sigh…

Maybe this is how life is, but never give up your hope! Happy weekend my friends (in a cheerful orange mood)!

I absolutely love your blog. Hermes and photography are two of my biggest passion in life too. It’d be great if you could list the brands/shops of the clothes you’re featuring. You put together some of the best ensembles I’ve ever seen. I think I need a suede vest now…..

Thanks, q9y8! It’ll help me know where to shop :P

Looking at all the Chinese characters make me wistful. I so wish I could read. I should’ve paid more attention to the teacher so many decades ago :(

birkingal, you are very welcome! :-)

Ah, Chinese, you don’t need to regret this. It is not easy to master even for Chinese people…

Taking about language, I wish I could write English so beautifully like you. BTW, if you see any grammatical errors/typos in my posts, please don’t hesitate to correct me. I really appreciate this. ;-)

Are you kidding me?! Your grasp of the English language is one of a native speaker. Very beautifully written too, I might add. I hadn’t realize until recently that it was actually your second language!

I’m taking private lessons along with my 4 year old. I’m deadset on her being fluent in the language since I’ve struggled with it all my life. So far, she has managed to speak Chinese and English fluently so hopefully she keeps up with it.

Sorry that the orange team lost in the finals, but I actually wished that Spain would win, so I’m happy with the outcome myself.

birkingal, thank you so much for the encouragement! I’ve had a blog in Chinese for many years and just started this new one for about a year. To be honest, I am still not confident enough. ;-)

Wow, your DD has done a great job! I am sure she’ll master both languages.

Elysium, I know. If only it wasn’t a Spain against Holland final, I surely will be a supporter too. I really enjoyed watching their games and Iker Casillas is my favorite goalkeeper. :-)

My pleasure. You’re doing a fantastic job :)

Yes, I hope DD will continue to be multi-lingual. I’m envious of those who can speak numerous languages, particularly the Swiss.

Hi, I stumbled upon your blog from a post in TPF. I LOVE the outfits you put together. Like birkingal, photography and fashion (particularly H) are passions of mine.

Quick question – where is the skirt in this post from? I love it!

btw – I was amused to see my real life nickname “ceci” right as the last comment! =) I had already typed in “ceci” under the name option, when I looked up and saw it would be a repeat.

cecicat, a big welcome! It’s always a pleasure to meet someone from TPF. Thank you for your kind comments.

The skirt is from Zara (their summer collection).

P.S. do you have a blog too? Would like to see your photographic works.;-)

P.S.S. how lovely that your nickname is also ceci!

Thank you q9y8! I love the Zara skirt. Chances are though that it’s no longer available in my neck of the woods.

Hm, I have a travel blog that I used to post when my DH and I traveled for 1/2 year.

Unfortunately, that trip is when I started becoming interested in photography, so the pictures are not so great. Most of my recent photographs are of my six month old DD. There are some on tpf. =)

cecicat, thanks for sharing your blog. I love the travelogues.

BTW, the Zara skirt is from their spring/summer collection. So it is probably hard to find now, but maybe they’ll have something similar for the fall/winter. Good luck!
