S/S Inspiration: Land of Confusion

“Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” – Gianni Versace

I really enjoy this simple yet powerful editorial, sometimes less is definitely more. Wish you all a happy weekend!

I so agree with the quote by Versace, how i understand it is whatever trends we’re following, being yourself and having your own identity is most important, it’s just so easy to become one of “those girls”, and a hard job not to forget who you are :)

BTw: In my cos bag, it’s a pair of shorts (shown in my latest post now ). I went to their stockholm store once and it was so crowded that i could’t see anything but people, so i ended up getting nothing there;(

which country are you in now?

But I found the dilemma is, sometimes,it’s hard to find something if they do not become “trends”. I was looking for colorful pants for a long time but couldn’t find any before they are “in”, finally. I guess I just have to look much harder or get these kind of things tailored :(

It’s funny that it were G.Versace the one who produced that quotation! I can’t think of anything less understated that a Versace design!!!! Anyway, I share his idea about trends, in my view, the solution is classic fashion!

Thank you gals for sharing your views!

Isabel, what a perfect sum up! BTW, I just answered the question at your place. Love the cos shorts on you. :-)

jibjab, ah, this is so true. In my case, it is the color-block style. I’ve been always fond of vibrant hues, but couldn’t find great pieces in this style. Now they are “in” and everywhere, I find it even harder to get the right one coz I don’t like those cheap mass produced color-blocks, so I’d rather wait until something really sings to me.

Birkinmary, I feel you. When I read the quote, I was like, wow is it really from Mr. Versace? lol~~ But on the other hand, the Versace style has been always true to themselves regardless of the trend. Not a fan of Versace’s design myself but I guess that’s the point.
