I agree that it is more appropriate and beautiful wearing shorts/skirts with bare legs. But it is still too cold (in my part of EU), so I do wear tights with them.
I normally choose opaque wool tights to go with skirts in thick/heavy fabrics. For shorts, I prefer tights with a touch of sheer effect. Like in this picture, click here.
And here is a tights+skirt combo I like. Hope you’ll find it less weird now. ;-P
Thank you for your reply. Of course I love opaque tights! but think about something like a liberty skirt in neutral colors, the only tights I can think of are nude ones, which I hate!!

Oh no, no nude tights, I don’t have a single pair in my drawer coz I can’t stand them either. For skirts in neutral colors, I prefer light gray, navy or black tights. Some dark brown ones work too. I think it really depends on how the skirt look like and the color mix of the whole outfit in general.

Thank you for your reply, your suggestions are always very interesting, ITA with you about neutral colors, I finally got a pair of taupe net tights and they look incredibly neat and a bit edgy! light gray net is also a great idea, Wolford has beautiful net designs for spring.
