Smart Ballerinas

Every time I am in Paris, I am amazed by the effortless chic style of the Parisians. Well, I know it sounds so cliché, but when you walk down Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the charming streets in Le Marais and the Saint-Germain des Prés areas. Passing by those beautifully dressed Parisians, you’ll know what I mean. ;-) Sorry that I have no pictures to share with you coz I am too chicken to ask them for permission (ouch, my broken French).

One of the wardrobe essentials for many French women are the ballerina flats. Comfortable, stylish and so easy to wear, they are the most chic alternative to heels. I love the fact that ballerina flats will always lend your look timeless sophistication. Either paired with slim-fit pants or a high-waisted skirt, a LBD or a trench…

So, what’s your favorite brand for ballerinas? I recently got two pairs and am very happy with both. Left one: Elizabeth Stuart, right one: Les Trois Garçons.

    沙花儿~~~咩哈哈,内天咱还聊flat咧,左边那双很质感噢,右面那双有点儿金属感,颜色好优雅。

I’m amazed by your creativity every time! Petals are artful and as they’re dancing delightedly. Of course, the ballerinas are beautiful : )

Love them! I need to get a couple of pairs myself having worn my current ones to the ground.

Both of those ballerinas are beautiful – I am not familiar with either brand but will definitely look them up! My most comfy pair of flats are Repetto. (I really love my Miu Miu flats but they are not as comfortable to walk in for long periods of time.)

And your photography of the flats is absolutely breathtaking. It could be a magazine editorial!

I love ballerinas since they are city walking friendly.
I never related Ballerinas with sophistication but it does make sense!

ITA with you about Ballerinas, they are the perfect alternative to high heels and look beautiful with any outfit. There are so many brands that I love but I have recently found a Spanish brand, Pretty Ballerinas, those are incredible! I have already bought four pairs for the season had never seen so large a collection of flats! Enjoy!

Fay, thank you for your nice comment. Glad to hear compliment on my photography, haha. ;-)

    CCC, happy shopping!

purseaddict, to be honest, I’ve never heard of both brands before myself.;-) Just came across those and it turned out great. Would love to try Repetto next time, and thank you for your lovely comment.

jibjab, totally agree. I usually wear heels at work but for shopping and running errands in the city on weekends, I prefer flats.

Birkinmary, my friend once told me about those from Pretty Ballerinas, but I didn’t have a chance to see them irl. Their website is a heaven for ballerinas. Thanks for your recommendation.

As always your pictures are beautiful! Great choices! Love the crocodile/alligator ones!

My favorites are repetto, bloch and alaia. I have walked for miles in Paris in my alaias and they were very comfortable!

Julide, thank you for sharing your favorites. BTW, these are not the real crocodile leather but just in crocodile effect. ;-)

I like both pairs. I have quite some ballerinas in different colors. My favorite is the pair from Prada, so light and comfortable. I am still looking for perfect black ballerinas though. :)
