We did some pre-Christmas shopping on the weekend. It is hard to believe that yet another holiday season is just around the corner. Well, I am not complaining at all. I really enjoyed browsing the beautiful holiday ornaments and love the atmosphere of Christmas markets in the city.
Sunday was the first advent, the tradition is to light the first advent candle and bake some sweets. :-)

We tried kelly cookies this time, the baking form (plus recipe) is a lovely little gift from Hermès. The cookies taste great! BTW, if you are interested in the recipe, pls let me know.

Hope you’ve had a very happy 1st advent! :-)

Happy advent to you as well, the cookies are really cute!
the cookies are fierce~~~~~ :P
What is advent BTW?
Did you arrange those flowers yourself? They are beautiful!
Those baking forms are hilarious! I saw some stores online selling little purses cookies too, what a cute idea!
We just got an advent calendar chocolate the other day, hehe, time for countdown :)
Elysium, thank you!
shaonian: Advent is the season that prepares for the Christmas. It consists of four Sundays starting with the Sunday closest to November 30th. An advent wreath with four candle is one of the most popular decorations used during advent. One candle will be lit on each advent Sunday.
jibjab, yes, I did the flowers by myself. Thank you for your lovely comments.
And we got chocolate advent calendars too. I also DIYed a bigger one for my hubby, hehe~~ There will be a little surprise everyday till Christmas. ;-)
Thank you for the explanation :) Fancy holidays~~~ Wish you all a happy happy happy holiday season ^_^
wow, a DIYed calendar! What’s in it ? :)
shaonian, you are very welcome! :-)
jibjab, I only half DIYed the calendar coz I got the idea and found the fabric. But I went to a tailor in the end and let him sew the calendar for me. ;-) I am too bad at sewing. This is how it looks like. I asked him to make only 12 bags instead of 24, otherwise it will be a really HUGE calendar. hehe~~
And there are sweets, chocolates, small toys from lego and some bath essences in every little bag. :-)
OMG! Another sweet DIY project. How did you make the cows? How creative!
jibjab, these reindeers/cows are not my own creation. They are printed on the fabric I bought. ;-)
I only DIYed the heart formed background and cut the cows in small pieces. The rest work was done by my wonderful tailor.
Still, very creative idea!
I might steal the idea and make something as a X’mas gift. It’s much more special when it’s DIYed.
Thank you jibjab. Have fun trying it yourself! :-)
P.S. as for ideas, I’d like to share what my DH did for my advent calendar. Since I am not a big fan of sweets/chocolates, he gave me a calendar with 24 boxes and there are two puzzle pieces in each box (take a look here). Only after I figure out the puzzle, can I see what my gift is. Coz he took a picture of the gift and made it a puzzle.
I really like the idea. It’s fun and it gives me something to anticipate everyday~~ ;-)
