COS Spring/Summer 2011

It’s still cold outside but it’s never too early to start planning some Spring/Summer must haves, so I decided to start with my favorite brand: COS. At the first glance of their new season’s lookbook, I was very pleased to see all these neutral palettes, it seems to meet my needs quite well.

However, after viewing each look, only this gorgeous modern trench made my heart sing (you disappointed me, COS, but my wallet begins to love you, haha). I just can’t wait to try it on, if the fit is great and the material is nice, one of these beauties will have a happy new home.

BTW, don’t you agree that the styling of this look is…let’s say: tricky? I prefer the look without these socks. Trendy or not, I’d never go out wearing them this way. ;-P

I agree. I can’t imagine pairing these socks with a dress. Too bizarre for words. I don’t think I’m going to look at Spring/Summer clothes for a while. Too cold here. Brrrr….

I haven’t found an easy way to find the cream/neutral color when sorting out color on websites–often have to search eggshell/beige/sand, etc…

The length of the socks never flatters the leg, but I would wear them with a little crinkle, if they are bight color in cotton material,

This collection is not my cup of tea either. The fact is the SS collections from other brands that I usually like did not attract me either, maybe it’s time to widen my horizons or invest even more winter clothes or be happy with being able to save the money…

ccc, it’s darn cold here as well, seems like Winter came back again. But at least we finally have sunny days. :-D

jibjab, you must have amazing long legs! Although I agree with you that these socks in cotton is a totally different story (pairng with chunky sandals or ankle boots or wooden heel pumps), I would not try it myself coz I know how my legs would look like. :-(

Elysium, invest more on Winter clothes is a great idea, especially when Summer is so short here. Let me know if you find something nice, haha. :-P

You just pushed me over the edge… put an order for a black winter dress (note very imaginative and most likely needs to be shortened, ah well).

I think this collection is a fairly good interpretation of their concept, with some twist of course. And the fact they put socks with that coat is well, still understandable… :P

    Happy New Year to everyone~~~

Elysium, haha! Happy to be your enabler. That LBD is a dream, totally worth it. ;-D

shaonianxin, thanks for your input! :-) I am with you that the collection is still COS, it’s just me loving their older ones more.

As for the socks, it seems that they are “inspired” by Marni’s F/W 2010 collection, IMHO they did it far less smarter and artistic than Ms. Castiglioni has done. But again, this is only my personal taste. Glad to know that you like the collection. ;-) Wishing you a early Happy Chinese New Year too!

kokobo, I am using an old Canon EOS (but you know that the pictures in this post are not from me, right? lol). Me too, still looking forward to the new collection because they normally have more style in store than showed in the lookbook.
