Winter Outfit (4): Sparkling Night

How many of you have to work tomorrow? If you are one of these unlucky few, don’t be sad coz you are not alone my friend. lol~~ I know this really sucks, but hey, at least we can organize a nice night out to celebrate. ;-D

Happy Chinese New Year! May the year of the rabbit be a happy, healthy and prosperous one for all of you!

Sweater: See by Chloé, brooch: Marni, shirt & skirt: COS, flats: Miu Miu.

Style Resolutions for 2011

I am not really that kind of person who makes resolutions every year coz I know I’ll probably end up sticking to none of them. ;-P However, for 2011, I do like to write down some style resolutions that I want to keep. My goal is to build a perfectly balanced wardrobe filled with only my favorites, so the plan is to:

  1. Invest in classics.
  2. Understand needs vs. wants: to avoid impulse or regrettable buys.
  3. Focus on neutral staples: I need more neutrals to complement my already colorful wardrobe.
  4. Be true to myself: buy clothes that only march to my own beat, instead of being seduced by trends & sales.

Ok, I guess that’s pretty enough. 2011 has just started but I’ve already returned three of my impulse sale purchases. What I am keeping are things I truly love and need: two white shirts, a navy skirt and a stone gray trench coat. You see, making resolutions is a good thing. It worked even for me, at least for now. lol!

We are leaving for Paris next week, I’ll keep you posted whether my plan still works in the city of light. ;-) So until my next post, stay happy and chic!

Winter Outfit (3): Cheerful Monday

It’s finally getting warmer, the snow has been melting the past few days. Usually I don’t like this kind of weather because it is muddy, wet and dirty everywhere. But now it doesn’t bother me any more, thanks to my rainboots~~ ;-)

Have a great start of the week everyone!

Jacket & sweater: COS, shawl: Hermès, shorts: H&M, boots: Via Lactea.

Winter Outfit (2): A Bold Mix of…

fabrics and colours with a spot of leopard. Are you already in the holiday mood just like me? ;-)

Blouse: Zara, top: H&M, skirt: Balenciaga, flats: Gianni Meliani.

Winter Outfit (1): November Snow

It’s snowing outside! I feel lucky to have listened to the weather forecast this morning and decided to wear something warm yet playful. :-)

Before going out, I also grabbed a shawl, threw on a vest plus a dark grey wool coat (not shown here). It’s Friday again, happy weekend everyone!

Shawl: Hermès, vest: H&M, boots: Via Lactea, the rest: COS.

Fall Outfit (4): Cozy Moments

What would you wear to brighten up the dull November weather? I prefer something comfortable and warm with a hint of orange…

Coat & belt: COS, dress: H&M, booties: Zara, the rest: Hermès.

Fall Outfit (2): Scarlet Maple

Red made a big come back this Fall/Winter, a tone of designers revisited this classic hue. From Dolce & Gabbana to Givenchy, from Zac Posen to Yigal Azrouel, the passionate scarlet graced everyone.

Being a fan of color, I’ve always loved red, but I never liked the idea of wearing red from head-to-toe. It is just too loud for my taste. How about you? ;-)

Sweater: Brookshire, scarf: Hermès, skirt: COS, gloves: Röckl, shoes: Masion Martin Margiela.

Fall Outfit (1): The Asymmetrical Gang

My beloved black asymmetrical vest wants to hang out with her best pal: the asymmetrical wool skirt, for a cold, but beautiful autumn Friday! Wish you all a wonderful weekend! :-)

Sweater & vest: COS, scarf: H&M, skirt: Max&Co, booties: Zara.

Pre-Fall Outfit (4): LBD à la Alaïa

I’ll probably never buy any Alaïa dress at retail price, even when they are on sale, I’ll think twice before splurging. But luckily, we have the most wonderful copycat in the city: COS (Copy Of Style. No, just kidding, it is actually called Collection Of Style, haha). I tried on this Alaïa inspired LBD a while ago and felt in love with it. However, I didn’t take it home because I prefer loose fit clothing to tight, body-con ones.

We passed by COS the other day and I mentioned the LBD to my hubby, he suggested that we go in together so he can help me make the decision. It sounds pretty nice, why not? So after trying it on in front of him, I have to have it because, according to him, it looks fabulous on me (he certainly hasn’t noticed that I was holding my breath all the time, lol).

In the end I did buy the dress coz it requires a flawless body, a good motivation for me to keep going to the gym. :-D

LBD: COS, necklace: Miu Miu, boots: See by Chloé.

Pre-Fall Outfit (3):Office Neutrals

An easy work outfit. Everything is fairly simple, but each item has its own little twist. I especially like the gray cardigan, the pocket detail gives a classic look a downtown spin. ;-)

Cardigan & skirt: COS, stripe top: H&M, necklace: DIY, shoes: Kenzo.
