I love the feeling of wearing earth tones in chilly March: warm, calm and relaxed…

Finally we had a Sunday full of sunshine!
However, just when I was dreaming of spring, it surprised me again with a white garden this morning. Oh, how I wish I could wear something like this today?

Yesterday was the start of the Chinese new year. I wish all my dear friends a happy, healthy and successful year of tiger! I hope all of us have the determination and bravery of the tiger in facing all the ups and downs in 2010.

My mom used to give me new clothes from head to toe to kick off the new year while I was a child. Now I am not a little girl anymore and don’t follow this tradition every year, but I always wear something red to celebrate.

Is what you wear a reflection of the mood you are in? Sometimes I feel less is more and want to go for something a little bit more edgy…

but I just can’t pretend to be cool. Coz all I want is to be true to myself…
I don’t have tons of neutrals in my wardrobe because, as you might have noticed, I love colors.
But I always admire those who wear neutrals in an unexpected beautiful way.
It’s easy to match blacks, whites, beiges and grays, but how to make them more personal and interesting is not as simple as just putting them together, agree? Please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas~~

I had a short trip to Munich three days ago. In order to make my train ride less boring, I took some glass pearls and ribbons with me and DIYed a new necklace (the bling bling part came from an old bracelet, how I wish I had more of these pretty little things). If you love the mix of pearls and ribbon but hate the price tag at Lanvin, why not just start DIYing now.
We’ll fly to Paris next week, I hope to share with you some beautiful winter pictures of the city of light next time!

It finally stopped snowing, feeling great to be able to wear my beloved leather jacket again!
I am normally not into these star-turned-fashion designers, but hey, this one by Sienna Miller is simply a dream!

Since it is impossible for me to wear purple from head to toe, I picked up something else from my wardrobe to go with the New Springs Carre. This is an outfit I’ll definitely wear, plus a gray wool coat when going out of course.

I never really liked matchy-matchy looks, but want to play with different shades of purple this time. Dark violet wool coat layered over a gray degrade wool dress, team them with light purple booties and the New Springs scarf.
What do you think? Will you wear something tone on tone like this? I’ll probably change these shoes.

The discussion with jibjab on how to make cutouts pieces look less loud makes me what to post this outfit I’ve almost forgotten.
There are no cutcouts in this look, but the idea is quite the same. When there is a statement piece (the necklace here), I’d rather keep everything else simple.
BTW, If you are the type of person who prefer simple and modest clothes, bold accessories are always a good choice to add some visual interest.
