Fall has always been my favorite season since I was a little girl, I love the smell of the crisp morning air, the color change of the leaves on deciduous trees, the crystal clear blue sky and the glorious autumn sunshine…
During a Saturday afternoon walk, we passed by my favorite interior store and I just couldn’t come home empty handed. Hope these little cuties will cheer up your week! :-)

Today I am not going to post another outfit, but rather to share two little things that happened on last Sunday that, really made my day! ♥
A very good childhood friend with whom I’ve lost contact for 13 years wrote to me (she got my eMail address from my mom). Reading her eMail makes me so happy although it was just a few lines. If you have a chance to get in touch with these old buddies, please do not hesitate to do so. Because friends that you meet when you are an adult are never the same and the beautiful memories of childhood are just too priceless.
Another surprise came from the amazingly kind Monsieur Hervé Pierre. I have no idea how he got to know my blog but I was so thrilled to read his incredibly wonderful comment on my post: Carré Story – Paddock. Merci infiniment, Monsieur Pierre!

Do you believe that good things come to those who wait? After waiting for 1 year and 9 months for something special. I do think it is true. :-D
May I introduce my new friend: Miss Rouge Garance!

I have my heart set on Rouge Garance because it is a true lipstick red, neither too blue, nor too orange; neither too dark, nor too flashy. The perfect shade of red IMHO and I just adore the horseshoe stamp. <3

I’ll probably never buy any Alaïa dress at retail price, even when they are on sale, I’ll think twice before splurging. But luckily, we have the most wonderful copycat in the city: COS (Copy Of Style. No, just kidding, it is actually called Collection Of Style, haha). I tried on this Alaïa inspired LBD a while ago and felt in love with it. However, I didn’t take it home because I prefer loose fit clothing to tight, body-con ones.
We passed by COS the other day and I mentioned the LBD to my hubby, he suggested that we go in together so he can help me make the decision. It sounds pretty nice, why not? So after trying it on in front of him, I have to have it because, according to him, it looks fabulous on me (he certainly hasn’t noticed that I was holding my breath all the time, lol).
In the end I did buy the dress coz it requires a flawless body, a good motivation for me to keep going to the gym. :-D

LBD: COS, necklace: Miu Miu, boots: See by Chloé.

I came across a set of photos of Monsieur Hervé Pierre’s (the creative director of Carolina Herrera) apartment in NYC and was very delighted to see that he framed one of my favorite Carrés for decoration: Paddock. So I think my own Paddock deserves a post today. ;-)

Paddock is a very old design from J-C Clerc and has been reissued multiple times a few years back. What attract me most about Clerc’s design is the way he paints people, how he uses simple brush strokes to convey each charming character is just magical.

I adore every single detail of his painting. It really makes a Carré special, special enough to hang on the wall as a piece of artwork.

Monsieur Pierre’s Paddock is in tender smoking blue, I opted for the electric blue colorway not only because it is more skin flattering, but also because the bright blue really lights up an outfit. :-)

“Once upon a time I wanted to know what love was. Love is there if you want it to be – you just have to see that it’s wrapped in beauty and hidden away between the seconds of your life. If you don’t stop for a minute – you might miss it.”
When hubby suggested Cashback on last raining Sunday evening, I didn’t expect something decent. A combination of teen comedy and romance sounds just like another American Pie garbage. But both of us were happy after seeing the movie. It is a well-done independent film with interesting plot, great acting (apart from the boss) and dreamy cinematography.
If you haven’t seen it, rent a DVD, you won’t be disappointed. I’d better not to explain how the story goes, but I do like to list a few aspects which make this movie a gem.
The poetic camera movements, many of the shots are very artistic and imaginative. A wonderful selection of music (love the mix of opera, classic and pop. Casta Diva, Boléro, Mysterious Ways…they are blended in perfectly with the story). The British humor, some jokes and gags were so amusing. It reminds us all these silly moments of our life, lol~~ Ah, BTW, Daphne Guinness was the executive producer of this film. She made a very short but stunning appearance at the end.

It seems that the summer has already gone. I’ve switched my daily frappé coffee to jasmine tea since last week, it is more pleasant to drink something warm especially in raining days.

Mixing rose petals in jasmine tea was a spontaneous idea, I am actually inspired by these heavenly rose macaroons from Ladurée. It turned out surprisingly good: delicate jasmine with a subtle touch of sweet rose flavor, hmmm…… Maybe you should try it yourself. ;-)
I’ve heard months ago that there will be quite a few China related designs in the Fall/Winter Carré collection, so I was very curious how they will look like:
- The Rhythm of China
- Sichuan
- Cent Plis des Miao
Now after seeing and trying these new season Carrés in store, I made my choice. The Rhythm of China was designed by the Chinese painter Ding Yi. The idea is to symbolize the soul of modern China by using countless little colored stars. Unfortunately it is not my cup of tea at all. Sorry, Mr. Ding. ;-)
Sichuan is an old design from R. Dallet, it features the wild animals from this very province in China. It’s a beautiful design but the color combinations of the reissued ones are just not for me.
The last one is Cent Plis des Miao, I wasn’t aware of this design until a friend wrote to me about it (a BIG thank you, my dear :-D ). At first I was surprised that Hermès issued a scarf based on the traditional pleated skirts from Miao, which is a minority folk from southwest China’s Guizhou province. This is really something special for me coz I’ve lived in Guizhou for many years and still have friends there. The design itself is simply stunning, I love the way the skirt is presented, the dedicate embroidery details at each corner and the vibrant color mix…

Wearing this Carré will surely bring back my memories in Guizhou… I’ll post a Carré outfit next time~~ Happy weekend everyone! :-)
Peony is my favorite flower in late spring/early summer. I am not a big fan of pink, but peonies in pink are just beyond gorgeous. Whenever I take a look at them they always put a smile on my face. :-D

It has been very humid and muggy lately, but the good thing is, the temperature goes up too, finally! :-) It’s time for a summer outfit~~

I found the green/purple/white sandals by chance just three days after I posted the “Nature Beauty”. There was only one pair left and they are exactly my size. Pretty amazing, ah? Just like my friend said, maybe they are meant to be mine. ;-)
