Carré Story – Noel au 24 Faubourg

In the world of Hermès, 2010 will be the year of “Conte et raconte” (story telling). Most new Carre designs are based on this theme. Unlike the SS09 collection, after browsing the SS10 new designs, I couldn’t find one that really makes my heart sing. Maybe it’s time to start searching for some grails. For a scarf lover, grail scarves are these personal must haves, these one will treasure forever and never let go. ;-)

There are 5 on my grail scarf list.

  1. Noel au 24 Faubourg
  2. Cheval Surprise
  3. Regarde Paris
  4. Ex-Libris (GM)
  5. A Cheval Sur Mon Carre (GM)

I feel very lucky to have already found one of them: Noel au 24 Faubourg. Issued in 2004 and designed by Dimitri Rybaltchenko (one of my favorite H scarf designers). It is just perfect for the coming Christmas! :-)

    Such a cute scarf! I love “A Cheval Sur Mon Carré” and cannot wait to see the colourways of the SS2010 jersey scarf.

    jibjab, I am not sure if there is a story between the little one and the pony. Would love to know too. ^_*

    As for this scarf, I only know it is a design from the 2004 AW collection and just like it’s name “Christmas at 24, Faubourg” says, the scarf depicts the house’s Paris flagship store at 24 rue Faubourg St. Honoré. I love the idea of putting the store in an apparent snow globe and how these cute and playful little ones on the pin tree branches evoke the spirit of holiday joyfulness. :-)

    I know there are blk/dark blue and blk/white colorways of “A Cheval Sur Mon Carré” for SS10. But I am not a big fan of jersey scarf. It is unfortunately too hard to get a GM(blk/white/gray colorway) now. :-(

    I don’t have any jersey scarf so I’ll get one if there will be a nice CW! It’s difficult to find the GM in black/white/grey but I managed to find one earlier this year so it is not impossible!

    Linda, I tried on jersey scarf when it first came out. It is indeed very nice, but not my cup of tee. Maybe because it feels a little bit cold and jersey is kind of fragile.

    MAJOR congrats on getting the shawl! I am so so happy for you. :-) Hope I can find it someday too. ;-)
